In the past I have wasted money on items that looked good in photos but felt cheap in real life. Sometimes a store looks great in ads but the real product is completely different. Many times I avoided a bad purchase just by reading a few careful comments. If they ignore basic questions or reply with copy pasted text, I become suspicious. I recently tried a few different online shops and wanted to share my experience. Sometimes I even measure an existing frame with a ruler before ordering anything new.
If anyone is interested in real user experiences, I sometimes write short notes about the shops I test.

Sometimes I experiment with different materials just to see how they feel in daily life. Smaller shops can be surprisingly friendly if they care about repeat customers. Bad lenses can cause eye strain, reflections and headache when you wear them for hours. When I test a new shop I usually start with one or two items instead of a huge order. I also pay attention to return policy and customer service response time. I also check if the lenses have any blue light filter or anti-reflection coating.
Hope this helps someone. |
