Playground Games finally did it. By setting Forza Horizon 6 (FH6) in Japan, they gave the community exactly what it has been begging for over a decade. In a map packed with dense Tokyo neon, tight mountain touge passes, and scenic rural biomes, Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) cars aren't just an optional category anymore—they are the main event.
With over 550 vehicles available at launch, picking the right ride can be overwhelming. If you want to dominate the narrow asphalt and sweeping drifts of Horizon Japan, these are the absolute best JDM cars to build right now, backed by the raw performance numbers.
1. The Touge King: 1992 Mazda RX-7 Type R
The RX-7 has always been a fan favorite, but the verticality and tight, winding mountain roads of the FH6 map make it an absolute weapon.
[Stock PI: B 627] -> [Recommended Spec: A 800 or S1 900]- Engine: 1.3L Twin-Rotor Rotary- Layout: Front-Engine, Rear-Wheel Drive (FR)

Why it dominates:
The stock 1.3-liter rotary engine pushes out 252 horsepower, which feels modest, but the car’s true strength lies in its 50:50 weight distribution and a featherlight curb weight of just 2,822 lbs (1,280 kg).
When upgraded to the top of A-Class (A 800), you can keep the stock twin-turbo setup or swap in a single massive turbo, pushing the output closer to 480 hp. Because FH6 introduces deeper suspension tuning nuances for narrow roads, installing drift or race suspension on the RX-7 allows you to pivot around hairpins with zero understeer. It is the most rewarding car for carving up the mountain passes outside Tokyo.
2. The Drag & Highway Monster: 2022 Acura NSX Type S
If your goal is to tear down the Tokyo highway network at blistering speeds, the modern JDM era has you covered. The 2022 Acura NSX Type S is an all-wheel-drive technological marvel.
[Stock PI: S1 842] -> [Recommended Spec: S2 998]- Engine: 3.5L Twin-Turbo V6 Hybrid- Layout: Mid-Engine, All-Wheel Drive (AWD)

Why it dominates:
Right out of the box, the Type S delivers 600 horsepower and 492 lb-ft of torque, launching from 0 to 60 mph in a relentless 2.5 seconds thanks to its hybrid system and launch control.
When maximized to S2 Class (S2 998), this car easily breaches the 900 hp mark. The combination of a mid-engine layout and a sophisticated AWD system means you can put all that power down to the pavement instantly, without spinning your wheels. If you are looking to purchase credits or accounts to fast-track your way to owning high-end U4N vehicles, maximizing this specific model should be your top priority. Getting your hands on elite FH6 cars early gives you a massive competitive edge on the leaderboard, and the NSX Type S is the perfect platform to show off that raw performance.
3. The All-Rounder: 2005 Honda NSX-R GT
For those who prefer a classic, track-focused experience, the 2005 Honda NSX-R GT is a rare gem that returns as a highly coveted Barn Find in the Ohtani region.
[Stock PI: A 721] -> [Recommended Spec: S1 900]- Engine: 3.2L Naturally Aspirated V6- Layout: Mid-Engine, Rear-Wheel Drive (MR)

Why it dominates:
Only one production model of the real-world NSX-R GT was ever sold to a customer, making its inclusion in FH6 special. In stock form, it produces 276 hp, but its real value lies in its aerodynamic bodywork and carbon-fiber construction, weighing in at a mere 2,800 lbs.
Upgraded to S1 900 with a centrifugal supercharger or a turbo conversion, it pushes roughly 650 hp. The extended front apron and rear snorkel roof scoop aren't just for looks—they provide noticeable high-speed downforce in the game's physics engine. It handles high-speed cornering entry better than almost any other mid-engine car in its class, making it perfect for technical street circuits.
4. The Street Legal Race Car: 1998 Nissan #23 Pennzoil NISMO Skyline GT-R
Forza Horizon 6 embraces Japan's rich motorsport heritage by including iconic JGTC (Japan Grand Touring Car Championship) legends as Barn Finds. Found in the Takashiro region, the Pennzoil GT-R is a nostalgic powerhouse.
[Stock PI: S1 815] -> [Recommended Spec: S1 900 or S2 998]- Engine: 2.8L Twin-Turbo I6 (RB28DETT)- Layout: Front-Engine, All-Wheel Drive (AWD)

Why it dominates:
Unlike standard road-going Skylines, this is a purpose-built race car. It hits the ground running with an official (though underrated) 493 horsepower and a massive reduction in weight, tipping the scales at just 2,645 lbs (1,200 kg).
Because it features a full racing chassis, its mechanical grip is staggering. You can take 90-degree city intersections at speeds that would send a standard R34 Skyline flying into a guardrail. Leaving it at the top of S1 class makes it almost unbeatable in online lobbies, as its corner-exit acceleration beats out heavier modern supercars every single time.

Whether you want to build a purist, rear-wheel-drive touge machine or a thousand-horsepower AWD monster to dominate the Tokyo street scene, Forza Horizon 6 has the depth to make every build feel distinct. Start with these four, dial in your tuning ratios, and go claim your spot as a Horizon Legend.
